Sebi Official Steals the Show with Impromptu Dance Routine
In a surprise turn of events, a group dance performance by a team of 60 staff members from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) stole the show at a recent foundation day event in the financial capital. The performance, which was part of a larger celebration of the institution's three decades of institution-building efforts, left the audience stunned, including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey.
The event, held at a popular convention centre, began with a look back at Sebi's achievements over the years. However, it was the impromptu dance routine that caught everyone's attention. The performance, which featured a medley of popular Hindi numbers, including "Aisha" by Sukhbir and "Jai Ho" and "Vande Mataram" by A R Rehman, was so well-choreographed that it left the audience wanting more.
According to sources, the 60-member troupe had been practicing for nearly a month to perfect their routine. The team, led by Varshney, a senior Sebi official, had clearly put in a lot of effort to create a memorable performance. As the music played, Varshney took centre stage, showcasing his skills as a leader and dancer.
