Wipro Gains on Acquisition Deal Worth Up to $70.8 Million

Shares of Wipro rose in early trade on Wednesday, April 15, after the IT major announced its subsidiaries have signed an agreement to acquire select customer contracts of Alpha Net Consulting for up to $70.8 million.

The stock was trading at Rs 207.85, up Rs 4.88 or 2.40 percent on the NSE, making it among the top Nifty gainers.

According to a regulatory filing, the acquisition involves select customer contracts of Alpha Net Consulting LLC and its subsidiaries (together referred to as the Alpha Net Group). This deal is expected to provide access to key clients, strengthening Wipro's AI-led and consulting-driven application services business.

The deal will be executed through cash consideration of up to $70.8 million, which includes deferred payments linked to performance milestones. The acquisition is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. No regulatory approvals are required.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, the Alpha Net Group has a global presence across Singapore, India, the UK, and the Netherlands. Revenue from the select customers being acquired stood at $27.9 million in CY23, $34.4 million in CY24, and $37.3 million in CY25.
