Atomberg Founders Realign Leadership Roles: Sibabrata Das Takes Over as CEO, Manoj Meena Assumes Chairman and Managing Director Position
Detailed Analysis
Leadership Change at Atomberg Technologies
In a move aimed at sharpening focus on its technology-led vertical, Atomberg Technologies has reshuffled its leadership roles. Co-founder Sibabrata (Shibam) Das has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while founder Manoj Meena transitions to Chairman and Managing Director of the company, as announced in a LinkedIn post by Meena on April 15.
As CEO, Das will lead the company's consumer business, which includes fans, water purifiers, and kitchen appliances. Meena will serve as CEO of Atomberg Innovation, a subsidiary focused on motors, drives, and cooling solutions. The leadership change comes as Atomberg Technologies aims to expand beyond its core appliances segment and focus on its technology-led vertical.
Atomberg has built significant intellectual property around motors and drives, which is now being deployed in air conditioning and refrigeration products. Solutions are being designed and supplied to large appliance makers and new industries. Atomberg Innovation, which began as a "zero-to-one journey," has reached a stage that demands dedicated founder-level attention.
The move formalizes a split between Atomberg's consumer-facing operations and its technology-focused business. Das will oversee day-to-day operations of the consumer business, while Meena will focus on long-term strategy, innovation, and scaling the company's intellectual property-driven initiatives.
This change in leadership comes shortly after Moneycontrol exclusively reported that the company has picked three bankers for an initial public offering (IPO) of over Rs 2,000 crore (around $220 million). Founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena and Sibabrata (Shibam) Das, Atomberg has raised over $150 million (around Rs 1,700 crore) from investors such as Temasek, A91 Partners, Steadview Capital, and Jungle Ventures. The company was last valued at around $450 million when it raised $86 million in 2023.
