Graticule's Levinson Open to Iran Resolution Ahead of Rally
Investor Remains Bullish Amid Market Volatility, Expects Rally on Iran Conflict Resolution
Adam Levinson, founder of Graticule Asset Management Asia, remains optimistic about the market's prospects despite recent volatility, citing an expected rally on a resolution in the Iran conflict. Levinson believes a favorable scenario could unfold before the end of next month, with China's involvement playing a key role in the resolution. He has described the current environment as "unequivocally the greatest hardware cycle of all time," drawing parallels with the 1998 tech rally that followed Russian default and currency volatility.
President Donald Trump has announced plans to send envoys to Pakistan with the intention of meeting with Iranian officials. However, Tehran has expressed skepticism about the prospects for talks to end the eight-week war that has been affecting the global economy. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman stated that there are no plans for Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to meet with US officials in Islamabad, but Tehran's observations will be conveyed to Pakistan.
Levinson's recent investments have focused on semiconductors, a sector that he believes makes up 1% of the global economy, compared to 3% for defense stocks. He sees significant potential for growth in the semiconductor sector, suggesting that 1% could increase to 2% given the current market conditions. In the artificial intelligence space, Levinson expects both the US and Chinese AI ecosystems to thrive in their respective spheres, with his firm participating in both. However, he notes that China's AI ecosystem presents greater risks due to a lack of profitability and international investments, which could also present opportunities for investors.
